The Audio Technica ATH-M50X and Sony MDR-7506 use the same ear cup geometry, which explains why a single Dekoni product covers both. They are two of the most widely used studio monitoring headphones in existence: the ATH-M50X for its closed isolation and low-end emphasis, the MDR-7506 for its flat analytical character and longevity in broadcast environments. Both accumulate serious hours and their stock leatherette pads show it.
Available materials
Choice Memory Foam: Dekoni's Jerzee line. Memory foam fill, value-oriented construction. Better pressure distribution than worn stock leatherette, and the memory foam conforms to the ear rather than compressing against it. The entry point for either headphone.
Choice (black): Choice Hybrid construction. Slightly firmer outer than the Jerzee, same memory foam fill.
Choice Leather: Protein leather over memory foam. Maintains the closed seal that gives both headphones their isolation character. Durable, easy to clean.
Choice Suede: Microsuede, memory foam fill. More breathable than leather. On the ATH-M50X, suede reduces some of the leatherette warmth; on the MDR-7506, it keeps the neutral character intact while improving comfort.
Elite Velour: High-grade velour. Opens up the presentation of both headphones and significantly reduces the ear-cup heat that leatherette generates over long sessions. The tradeoff is some reduction in isolation.
Elite Sheepskin: Real sheepskin, solid face. Premium feel, firm seal. Adds warmth and bass body — a significant acoustic departure for the neutral MDR-7506, less so for the already bass-forward ATH-M50X.
