Dekoni Earpads for HiFiMan HE Series

HiFiMan's HE series covers a wide range of planar magnetic headphones sharing the same fundamental ear cup geometry: the HE-400, HE-500, HE-560, and related models. All use large oval pads that are integral to the headphone's acoustic performance. Stock pads age, compress, and eventually need replacing. Dekoni offers four materials for this platform.
Available materials
Elite Velour: High-grade velour, memory foam fill. The most neutral option acoustically. HiFiMan's planar drivers are detailed and transparent; velour preserves that rather than adding material-driven colouration. Better pressure distribution than worn stock pads without changing the tuning character.
Elite Sheepskin: Real sheepskin, solid face. Seals the cup firmly, adding warmth and bass weight. The HE-400 series has a slightly lean low-end by design; sheepskin addresses this directly. More of a tuning change than velour.
Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin: Perforated sheepskin. The balanced choice: real leather construction, but the perforations reduce the full-seal acoustic effect and keep the staging more open. The HiFiMan house sound stays largely intact while the build quality and durability improve.
Elite Hybrid: Velour face, leather surrounds. Combines open acoustic character with long-session thermal comfort. For headphones that reward extended listening, reducing ear temperature matters.
