Hoe deze pads het geluid veranderen
The HD 598, HD 599, and Massdrop PC37X share the same ear cup geometry: open-back, circumaural, 50 ohm, and accessible enough to drive from a phone or a laptop while remaining genuinely good headphones to work or listen with. For many people they are a first serious open-back. The velour-over-foam stock pads are comfortable but wear down and eventually go flat.
Available materials
Choice Memory Foam: Dekoni's JRZ line. Memory foam fill under a velour-style face. The most neutral material choice for this platform: preserves the open, airy character of the HD 598/599 while replacing worn foam with something that holds its shape and distributes pressure more evenly. The right pick if you want the headphone to sound like itself for longer.
Choice Leather: Protein leather outer, memory foam fill. Seals more than velour does, which adds a small amount of bass body and removes a little air from the top end. Warmer on the ears and slightly warmer in the sound. If the stock presentation felt a touch thin or bright, this material edges it in the other direction.
