The Momentum 4 Wireless is Sennheiser's over-ear lifestyle flagship: 18 ohm, active noise cancellation, 60-hour battery life, and a consumer-leaning tuning that prioritises bass weight and smoothness over analytical transparency. The stock leatherette pads are part of the ANC seal and they do their job, but leatherette ages poorly with daily use -- the outer material eventually peels, and the foam underneath compresses unevenly.
Dekoni's Choice range for the Momentum 4 replaces the stock pads with materials that hold up better and feel better doing it, without compromising the seal the ANC system depends on.
Available materials
Choice Leather: Protein leather over memory foam. Visually and functionally close to the stock leatherette but with memory foam that adapts to the ear shape rather than compressing to a fixed profile. The bass-forward Momentum 4 signature is well-served by a leather pad: the seal stays firm and the low end stays planted. The leather exterior holds up to daily commuting use considerably better than the stock material.
Choice Suede: Microsuede outer, memory foam fill. More breathable than leather, noticeably cooler on the ears during long listening sessions or warm weather use. The suede face does not seal as aggressively as leather, which marginally reduces the bass weight and opens the top end slightly. A reasonable trade if the Momentum 4's stock sound is already bass-heavy to your ear or if thermal comfort is a higher priority than low-end impact.
