The MM100 and MM500 are Audeze's studio monitoring pair: planar magnetic drivers in a form factor aimed at professional engineers rather than audiophile listeners. The MM500 in particular has become a reference for mixing engineers who want accurate low-end and a closed presentation. Both share the same ear cup geometry and the same Dekoni pad options.
Available materials
Elite Velour: Memory foam fill, velour face toward the driver. The acoustically conservative pick: preserves the monitoring character of both models. For studio use where accuracy matters more than comfort enhancement, this is the sensible starting point.
Elite Sheepskin: Real sheepskin, solid face. Adds low-end weight and isolation. On the MM500's already bass-accurate platform, this can read as too much of a good thing; on the MM100, where the low end is more polite, sheepskin brings it forward usefully.
Elite Hybrid: Velour driver-face, leather surrounds. The thermal and durability upgrade without acoustic compromise. For headphones that spend eight-hour sessions on an engineer's head, the comfort improvement is a practical consideration.
