The Meze Liric is Meze's closed-back planar magnetic headphone: a significant technical step from the 99 Classic's dynamic driver, aimed at listeners who want planar detail in a portable-friendly closed form factor. The stock pads are leatherette over foam. At the Liric's price point, that is the weakest component by a considerable margin.
Dekoni's Elite Sheepskin for the Liric uses real sheepskin leather over memory foam, specifically fitted for the Liric's cup geometry. The sheepskin maintains the closed seal the planar driver requires for its bass response while providing a substantially better feel and durability than the stock material. For a headphone designed to be used on the move as well as at a desk, the pad's ability to withstand daily handling matters.
