The HD 25 has been a broadcast and DJ standard since the early 1990s. On-ear, supra-aural, closed-back: it sits on the ear rather than around it, which gives it aggressive isolation but means the pads are doing real structural work every time you wear it. The stock foam pads eventually flatten and crack.
Dekoni's JRZ Choice Memory Foam is the only available replacement here, and it's a sensible one. The memory foam cell structure spreads the contact load more evenly than compressed stock foam, which reduces the characteristic HD 25 hotspot pressure over long broadcast sets or monitoring shifts. The lightweight on-ear design stays intact; the pads simply hold up better and feel better doing it.
