The HD 280 Pro is designed for passive isolation in loud environments, and Sennheiser achieves this partly through a clamping force that makes the headphone memorable for the wrong reasons over a long session. Closed-back, 64 ohm, circumaural: the pads are part of what creates the seal, and stock leatherette eventually loses its integrity.
Dekoni's JRZ Choice Memory Foam replaces the stock pads with a material that conforms to the jaw and cheekbone rather than pressing uniformly against them. The isolation stays intact because memory foam seals effectively; the pressure distribution across the cup improves considerably. The result is a headphone that does the same monitoring job with less incidental discomfort.
